The name says it all. Sometimes my body, skin and mind just want an extra dose of love. So this is where this drink comes in. It's perfect for an afternoon pick me up or a pre-dinner date drink. Giving you lots of good feels with the ginger, lemon and cayenne.
When I was pregnant, the only thing that would cure those "hangover feel" days was ginger. And I would carry around packets of lemon ginger tea just to sniff throughout the day. Ginger is such a powerful root, that I think we all need to use a little more in our lives. And the added turmeric in this drink gives it an extra boost. The health benefits of turmeric are insane, just look it up! Ingredients:
Add the water, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, honey, molasses and 1 juiced lemon to a cup. I used a mason jar, because you are going to want to shake it up. Once it is shaken, put into the fridge until it is chilled. Once it's chilled slice some lemons, add ice and top with kombucha.

Pizza is a favorite meal in my house and when I went GF, it seemed impossible to find the right pizza dough. And the key to cooking GF food is to find a recipe that the whole house will eat and they can't really taste a difference. Udi's pre made pizza crust seems to be the winner and I found it at Wholefoods. Another favorite is Simple Mills Pizza Dough and when I lived in the DR, I would order it on Amazon here. My husband is a pizza expert and we've tasted multiple recipes and this is his absolute FAVORITE! Maybe it's a Utah thing, but my husband had never tried BBQ chicken pizza. He thought the concept was bizarre. Well I'm here to testify, it's beyond delicious and now his favorite pizza recipe.
Ingredients: • Udi's premade pizza crust • Native Texan Original BBQ Sauce (or your favorite BBQ sauce) • 1 onion chopped • 1 chopped Jalapeño (if you want the spice) • I package of shredded cheddar cheese • I package of shredded mozzarella cheese • 1 lb. of chicken or one rotisserie chicken Cook the chicken ( if you use a rotisserie chicken, shred it into pieces). Once chicken is cooked and prepped, make sure it's shredded or in small pieces. Use 1/2 a cup of the BBQ sauce and pour it in a bowl. Mix the chicken with the sauce and put in the fridge. Set the oven to 375 degrees. Prep the onion and jalapeño. Once the oven is ready, precook the pizza crust for 5 minutes. Once that is done, take out and spread the BBQ sauce on the crust. Add the chicken, onions and jalapeños, then top with both cheeses. Pizza is such a personal preference, so you can add as much of the ingredients as you would like. Once the pizza has all the toppings, put in the oven and cook for 10 minutes, or longer if you like it crispier. |
